NOT JUST A RIDE- BUT THE RIDE
It had been a great day. The ride to the lake had been sunny and warm. Traffic was light that day. Temperature's were moderate- perfect in fact. Not to hot, but warm enough that the 85 mph wind didn't send a chill to my bone.
The drinks and dinner were light that night. Great company with a great view of the prestine lake. I watched as the sun set behind the mountain tops. It was still slightly sunny out and just a glimmer of a rainbow appeared over the water, I watched as it grew brighter and more intense as the minutes passed. The last glass of wine was drank just as the final minutes of day disappeared with the sun and the rainbow.
I mounted the bike, secured my helmet and jacket as the bike idled. I took a great big breath of fresh air mixed with the slightest scent of gasoline. mmmmmmmmmm. sweet. There was a slight chill now that there was no sign of sun left. I hit the road-with the ever so slight curves. For the first time I realized I could only focus on the road. It was so dark out that there was no view past the white line of the highway. There were no distractions as I accelerated- 2nd, 3rd and now finally resting in sweet number 5. The moon was bright, even tho it was just a sliver of yellow. It made the double yellow line glow on the black pavement. It was a perfect path back home. I noticed the smell slightly changing in the air...dusty, yet moist. I felt the slightest pin prick as a rain drop hit, then another, and yet another until I felt the dampness starting to work its way thru my jeans. Still I cannot keep from smiling as I flow and ebb thru the left corner, than the right. A zig and a zag. The grin on my face just becoming wider and wider...my teeth must be glowing now...the moon still is bright- i wonder where the clouds that are shedding their moisture are...somehow i wonder how they are just over me... They now are hitting my visor more intense, and the speed of me and the bike keep the droplets racing off of my visor. For a minute i imagine they are shooting stars falling on me. I take in this moment, embrace this ride- because for the first time i realize i'm not just on any ride, I am on THE ride.

NEW YORK OR BUST
|
Its a roadtrip! So, I'm taking the red-eye wednesday night to new york. Get in at 6am, pick up rental and head to the auction site 50 miles away. Pick up a 68 firebird (convertable)...drive it around and see if we think it will make it home. If yes, we're off. If not, hanging out at the auction house to buy a rig big enough to tow it home. Then off we go! We have 3 days to get home...can it be done? will one of us end up in the trunk? or be smiling

To tired to post much- some pix are posted in discussion forum.. the photo gallery wants to be a pain in my ass, so I'll have to work on it. So, In December I had Les Schwab take out the cherokee. I've had my first experience with insurance. Grrr, what a pain in the ass! So, here we are at the end of January and still haven't put it in the shop yet. Will most sell it to my brother. That means more time and money into the wrangler. woot woot!
Hope everyone has marked their calendars for the upcoming Moyie Spring Mud Bogs- Always held Mothers Day weekend. I've marked myself out and plan on being there all weekend.
The Chelan East meets West Bike trip is a go the following weekend for those that ride and are interested in heading over to Chelan.

Housewarming/Pumpkin carving party
For fellow friends and family: I'm all moved into my new place! As some of you know, I've been trying to get in since July. It was a busy summer, but I'm starting to feel settled in finally.
October 20 will be a pumpkin carving party and housewarming of sorts. I've got plenty of space on my floor for those who want to crash overnight, just bring sleeping gear, suits for the hot tub, ur horseshoe throwing arm, pumpkin and carving tools!
6:30 ish
1011 E. Burk. If your interested send me an email to here (not my email) and I will give better directions if needed.
Happy Fall!

I NEED STIMULATION
Okay...it to cold outside to go sleddin, to much snow for motocycles...must be time for JEEPS! Unfortunetly, that usually means broken parts for me, and since I'm repairin the bike, not a lot of $$ left over for any more destructive behavior. However I'm gettin stir crazy and think I could go entirely out of mind (I'm about 90% there).
So, I will wish everyone a VERY happy New Year. I've been working on putting together a vision board for 2007. (yes, this is the sentimenal wtfever me). My first "goal" is to be prepared more financially, so I can make a wonderful move to a house on the Northside with acreage. I know I'm supposed to be there- raisin chicken, beef and growing a garden. I am sooo lookin forward to this move. And believe it will be a great one for my well being. Since its out of town a ways, a motorcycle ride looks like part of my daily compute. BUMMER. NOT. hehe. I'm stoked.
The salon is running great, added Rachel in January. She's a great addition to haute headz. Had a very dear client pass away on Xmas eve day. Sally has been my client since day one, and losing her was pretty difficult- and the when I returned after the holidays, I learned another client had passed. Man. My clients ARE my friends, and so this was a hard one for me. But I've learned life just keeps chuggin away. We live once, make the best of it, no regrets. JUST DO IT! So, yeah, a bit of a fire has been lit under my little arse. It comes at a time when i needed it....
So, yeah, here's to you all...CHEERS. I'm gonna be out there 4xin, ridin a bike, a sled, a quad- don't fn care. I'm gonna work hard, and play harder!!!
Thanks to everyone out there! Live it....
